Raffia basketry workshop Sunday 5th October 10am to 3pm
The process of making baskets with raffia is perfect if you are looking for your next mindful and relaxing craft to learn.
Raffia is a great material to work with due to it's pliable yet strong properties. Raffia is a naturally occurring material from the raffia palm tree. Raffia can be dyed in a wide range of beautiful colours, including natural dyes.
In this relaxing workshop, in a small group, our expert tutor Sarah from Ewe Tree Yarns will teach you all the skills you need for this new craft. All materials will be provided, you will be able to choose from a range of colours of raffia and you will create a raffia bowl.
Drinks and biccies will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.
All workshops take place in the upstairs studio of Tissington Craft Corner, based in The Joiners Shop, Tissington, Derbyshire, DE6 1RA. Please be aware, due to our location upstairs in an old building, access is only by 5 stone steps. Free parking is 200yds away opposite Tissington Hall.
Please note workshop finishing times are approximate and may run over or finish a bit earlier.
Please read our page of Information for Workshop Attendees in advance of your workshop.
